Shawn McGuire, President of STS, is the proud owner of our family owned company. Shawn is a devoted husband to Anna and a father to Paul, Lauren, and Michael. He was a Police Officer for the city of Marion, IN for 16 years before he realized that his entrepreneurial interest in IBC containers had become a full-time job. Summitville was, at this time, in search of a Town Marshal. Shawn and his family decided that this would be the perfect time for him seek yet another opportunity in being closer to home for his family, business, and a town he loves. 

In 2007 Shawn was in search of a tote for personal use. Finally finding his first IBCs, he was reluctant to have to purchase all ten while he was only wanting one. Shawn decided to use a website that he had heard of called “Craigslist” to sell the totes on. He not only found individuals that needed IBCs, but also found a market in need of an IBC reconditioner. 

He spent a lot weekends traveling around the Midwest picking up and delivering IBCs while developing a new system to repair, clean, and dry them to meet customer needs. In 2013 the tote company Shawn started in his barn needed more space so after searching he found a larger facility to run his business properly. Superior Tote Solutions, headquartered in Summitville, Indiana, now occupies 15 acres and has plenty of room to grow.

Here at STS- We are Offering a Superior Service to our customers. We strive not only to provide our customers with excellent products and customer service, but to help them solve their problems. We believe that helping our customers is the lifeblood of our business.  

Helping make this happen- One great strength of Shawn McGuire, and STS as a whole, is the ability to "put great people around us". 

Michael McGuire,  our Operations Executive is currently running our newest facility in Greenwood, IN. Michael has been around STS since he was 8 years old unloading semis with his older brother and sister. Michael returned to the family company full-time in 2023  and is continually looking to meet customers, make connections, and solve problems.  

Kelly Burcharts, starting in 2014, is our Operations Manager. She coordinates with our logistics team, brokers, and plants to ensure that daily operations run smoothly. Kelly, a strong communicator, is our first point of contact for trucking, scheduling, IBC pick ups, and much more. 

Peter Mortimore, our Senior Regional Sales Manager, has developed a strong sales network with over 35 years of experience. A strong presence in STS, Pete maintains great relationships for our customers and is consistently looking for innovative ways for STS to support our customers.
